Lunch Skins

Hi friends,

There’s something we need to chat about. Don’t worry… I’m not breaking up with you, I just want to give you something to think about. We all need to eat lunch, and most of us working folk make a lunch to take to work or send off with our kids to school. Every day we pack our reusable lunch bag full of healthy snacks and hopefully do most of our shopping locally and conscientiously. Unfortunately though, most of us still use sandwich bags unconsciously out of routine. We don’t consider the impact of this small act day in and day out. All of those little bags add up.

One day plastic grocery bags will be a thing of the past, hopefully, and more and more of us are carrying our own bags to the store. For goodness sake, you can buy a Trader Joe’s reusable bag for $0.99 and use it until is falls apart and then recycle it. Most people go to the grocery store once or twice a week and manage to bring their own bags, so why do they use plastic sandwich bags every day?

I have some good news though, there is a solution! You can find eco friendly reusable snack and sandwich bags now for a reasonable price that you can throw in the dishwasher and personalize. I found mine at Lunchskins.com. I believe Target stores also carry them. If everyone performed this small act we would make a large impact on our collective global footprint.
