Gabrielle Jones

The Student Nutrition Organization of San Diego State University aims to serve the San Diego community  through nutrition education, advocacy for nutrition and wellness causes and philanthropic ventures, as well as to provide its student membership with practical field experiences, community involvement, and an understanding of the diverse opportunities in nutrition.

 

I was a member of the SDSU S.N.O. from my first semester at SDSU and in my senior year took on a leadership role as the Web and Social Media Manager for the 2014-2015 academic year. This experience taught me so much and added so many amazing experiences to my college career. We participated in funrasiers, benefit walks, volunteered for fitness events and with the MS society as well as many other events spreading health awareness and giving back to the community. We also threw our 2nd Annual Kids Eat Right Silent Auction and Dinner Gala to raise money for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Kids Eat Right campaign. I was also the leader of the Food Product Comittee with the intention to create a healthy food product to sell in Atec shops to raise additional funds to use to create bigger and better events in the future.

 

I was proud to be part of this organization and can't wait to see how it flourishes in the future.
